Patch Club is how we share our love of mending and vintage kimonos with you. Every month we send out a collection of 5 patches, hand picked for their color and story. We want to inspire you to find time to care for your broken garments, and see the beauty in what you already have. Patch club is for people who love fabric, fashion, and history.

Do I get to pick my patches?

The patches are chosen by the Isaboko team every month based on a theme that will be communicated to you. The colors, textures and prints vary but they will always be vintage Japanese fabrics. You will never reecieve the same fabric twice.

How big are the patches?

We cut and iron the patches to be anywhere from 8" x 8" to 1.5" x 1.5" you can choose to use the patch as we send it to you or in any other creative way you can think of.

Can I wash the garment that I sew these patches on to?

We recommend spot treating or dry cleaning all garments with vintage kimono patches on them as the material is unpredictable- that being said if you are comfortable with whatever could happen please go for it. The main patches we are concerned about are dark blue ones as these tend to have dye run.

When will my patches arrive?

The 1st of every month- usually arriving by the 6th-8th depending where you live.

How do I manage/cancel my subscription?

In the top right of isaboko.com there is a customer portal where you will see your purchases and subscriptions and the options to cancel or delay this monthly renewal.

Isaboko is dedicated to vintage textile storytelling and zero waste patterning and process. These patches come from prototypes and experiments in our studio. We are accountable for even the smallest piece of the fabric we use because we believe that what we have is extremely valuable.

Patch Club is shipped in second hand paper envelopes and may display some unique idiosyncrasies- we hope you will like that as much as we do.

Isaboko is a garment making project dedicated to reinstalling the value in materials we already have. In pursuit of honoring the weaver of the textiles, the dyer of the fibers, the silkworms and plants that created the fibers, and the original garment intention and life. Our process involves deconstructing vintage kimonos and obis, zero waste pattern drafting, and designing for highly versatile use. Currently all production of our garments occurs in NYC. We want to share with you a path to a more sustainable clothing culture, and a piece of our radical hope.
