Designed for individuals who fearlessly express themselves and are eager to joyfully reimagine the world around us. We do that through following three principles of radically sustainable design:

  1. ✮ Only use Waste Textiles ✮
  2. ✮ Design with Zero Waste Patterns ✮
  3. ✮ Center Gender-Free Design ✮

Isaboko holds an optimistic view of the future, believing that humanity and civilization can coexist in harmony with the Earth. These are clothes that can exist in that future, and inspire hope in our present. Solarpunk is a movement that represents the envisioning of this future, believing in it, and actively working to turn it into a reality.

About the Designer:

My name is Izzy. Pronouns they/them.

is that weird? maybe! You don’t have to use them, but it might make you feel better if you do! Maybe it wont.  But it might :) Here is my serious bio that I use when I am trying to impress people.

Isabella Li Kostrzewa is a non-binary Asian American designer based in Brooklyn NY, originally from Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. They are the designer and founder of Isaboko, a sustainable fashion brand using only waste textiles, zero waste patterns, and gender free design. They were the graduation speaker for Parsons School of Fashion where they graduated in 2023 with a BFA in Fashion Design, receiving both academic and departmental awards. While at Parsons they were a resident advisor, as well as a research assistant for the first comprehensive plus size patterning book under Lelia Kelliher and Gabby Brown.

Kostrzewa’s awards include the Re:Generation Innovation Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America which they received in 2022, the same year they were invited to be one of five Parsons Designers to participate in the Circular Design Summit at Aalto School of Design in Helsinki, Finland. This year they also gave a speech at the Live Mas conference on accessible sustainable fashion titled “Change Your Clothes and Join the Revolution.” In 2021 they were the youngest, and second American in 15 years, to become a finalist for the Redress Design Awards, the largest sustainable fashion design competition internationally. Their earlier achievements include being a Youngarts alumni and a finalist on season 2 of Project Runway Jr. Besides fashion design Kostrzewa is interested in solarpunk, religion, history, and indigenous issues.
